Upside Down Kapex?

I have couple of flip-top stands in the shop.  One has a lunchbox planer, one has a small drill press.  I've built them so the top flips 180º and the tool is in the cabinet, and I have a workspace on top.  They're all on wheels and built to match the height of my MFT when "closed".

I want to build a larger version for my Kapex.  Not only would it give me assembly space in my tiny shop, but when I go on site, I can flip the table and have the Kapex protected inside a plywood box in the van.  My van is not racked (used for many different things...), everything has to stack when I go on site.  Everything is Systainer-ized and stacks great, except the Kapex.  Getting it into a cube of some sort will help a lot.

Question is:  Does anyone see a problem with storing the Kapex upside down?  Assuming I lock the slider knob and pin the head down with the lock, I think all the pressure would be off the springy parts and on the hardware parts.  I've stored my planer upside down for years, and have had no issues.

Thoughts?

I have my Kapex in a flip-top table and it's upside-down since the other side is an MFT-matching work surface that is usually up.  Only been there 3 months or so, but no problems that I've seen.

I've had mine in a flip-top stand for a couple of years now.  No problems at all. Very convenient.

yeh, yeh ... and they work the right way up in Australia ... [blink]
