I have a small cabinet project that requires a single door to open upward (hinges on the top, handle on the bottom). Do any of you have preferred hinges for that sort of door operation?

Thanks!

I made a lift top makeup vanity recently using Blum regular cabinet hinges.  I had slow close hinges in the house, but the slow close feature is useless with a 20” x 20” MDF lift door.

I added a separate piston slow closer.  So save some money on the hinges.  I got the slow closer from Rockler.

For that situation I have used this type of lid hinge system in the past: [attachimg=1]

The hardware stores around here mostly sell hettich stuff.

There is no actual hinge at the top, and you can set it to open 90 degrees, or limit it to 75 degrees.

Blum makes a really nice version of the pictured type hinge. Works well, adjusts and looks classy.
