US Debt Mountain! In pictures

Cool! For me (and for you from UK). Probably not for our friends on the other side..

But that is a lot of cash...

If they don't get their crap together, we are all going to be in a new way bigger recession.... Makes me mad

Just a friendly reminder not to let this progress into a political topic. If it does, it will be removed. Thanks.

Everybody knows the US is going to fix this by the deadline, it's Europe that is on borrowed time imo.  They should just let the PIGS default, and then they can get on with reorganizing their economies.

Depends what you mean by FIX... increase the ceiling, yes, fix the problem.. no

How do you fix a debt you can't ever pay back?

Ask to borrow more....... [eek]

Good find !

Is that to say someone did it in real life with actual pennies??? That seems impossible not to mention who had all of the pennies?

I've got to look at that mountain of money and think two completely different things ...

1. It's a fluid medium for what should essentially be goods for goods trade - all gone out of control

2. It's a massive waste of a perfectly good mountain of wood

Well then, that alone would more than account for out national debt, as it costs our government about two-and-a half cents to produce each of those pennies...    [blink]

Maybe the government should just confiscate all of our pennies -- national debt problem solved!  [tongue]

There in lies the answer to most ALL the problems.  It's impossible to pay back unless we let the system fail and construct a new one.  We're indebted indefinitely.  There's no end.

I blogged about this a few times:

A trillion here, a trillion there...

I've been slacking...

And another post: OMG, it sucks to be young...

I guess you could call of of these posts political and not deserving to be represented here. But they're(IMHO) simple statements of fact. We are where we are in this country due to the decisions we've collectively made through the representatives we voted for.  We owe what we owe, that's a fact. Our children and grandchildren will have to service this debt because we'll never pay it off in our lifetime, that's a cold, hard fact. It doesn't matter which party incurred the debt, it's all of us who are responsible for repaying it.

I hate with a passion that I have this to pass on as a legacy to my children....

Bill
