use a regular pot with a HVLP gun

I would like to know if you can replace this gun with a HVLP and have it work like an HVLP should. Is it as simple as replacing the gun? This link doesn't work. I'll try to fix it.

That is an HVLP gun. Are you asking about using it with a turbine? If so, it should work once you figure out how to connect the hose.

I don't read where it is an hvlp.
But it doesn't really matter what I really wanted to know is can you replace a regular gun with an HVLP gun in a set up like that? I have a 3 gallon pot with a regular gun and would like to switch the gun with an hvlp. Can I simply just replace the gun without doing anything special to the pot?

That reads hvlp to you? That's how much I know.

So can I just change the gun on my pot?

I think, not certain that, that would qualify as an LVLP gun. LVLP Spray Guns utilize a lower volume (CFM) of air when compared to HVLP equipment.

Yes, you can use a HVLP gun with that pot with no problem. The fluid lines and air lines are usually standard connections.
Are you planning to use a turbine driven or compressor driven HVLP gun?
You will need a compressor capable of producing around 13cfm to use a HVLP gun.

The Astro should work for you. Make sure your compressor will supply the CFM required for the gun.

I have a large enough compressor for an hvlp gun. I just sometimes need a larger amount of finish that a pot would hold and would sometimes like to use a different gun. Not having to hold it up like a siphon gun requires but upside down sometimes comes in handy.
I did learn one thing, twice, don't use a glass container in the pot  [scared]
I Didn't want to clean the pot for a small amount. The first time I thought it was a fluke the second time made me a believer [big grin]

I'll try an hvlp  gun on the pot. We'll see

I run an HVLP gun on a 2.5 gallon pot all the time.

Pot, Fuji Q4, Jc-10 compressor.View attachment 1

For small amounts, place the material in a one gallon paint can, place can in pot, place pickup in gallon can, seal, charge, spray. If you don't have a mixing blade in your pot a one quart can is possible.

To filter the product in the pot, cut up bucket strainers/filters into 6" squares, fan it over the pickup screen, hold in place with string or cable/wire tie.
