I wonder if I can use the D50 Y-piece together with 2 pieces of the sealing slider on my CTL26?

When I connect 2 hoses through the Y-piece I do not find the suction that great.
So normally I use a pvc plug at the machine-end of one of the hoses to disconnect it. But when changing to the other hose I have to swap the pvc plug again.
Can I use the sealing sliders for that purpose, because I know they are meant for the filter cleaning functions on the AC-Planex dust extractors?
Has anybody experience with this set-up?
Especially with the dimensions of the sealing slides, or simply said do 2 of those pieces fit?

I've done this. Its a bit wonky as it sticks pretty far out the front of the vac. Otherwise it works good...

sgryd used those in his excellent boom arm set-up, detailed here.

Edit: there's more detail here.

Just using them off the Y piece though, I agree with Christopher, it would be a little 'wonky'...

I agree it would be a bit wonky with the 2 sealing slides attached to it.

I always wondered why the Festool Y-piece is so long?
I have seen some shorter ones from the old Festo period and Fein as well.
And sgryd used the 2 sealing slides mounted on a piece of board which is a lot firmer.

Does anybody know an European source for a shorter Y-piece like on the pictures which fits the CTL Ø50 mm inlet and the sealing slides?
The 2 short ones on the pictures probably will not hold the 2 sealing slides.

Why not design something like the water splitter on the picture below with integrated taps?
Come on Festool, you can do it and it will cost a lot less then the options mentioned above.
