Hi. Any "trick" to take advantage of the entire jigsaw blade to the maximum?
Usually only the central part of the sheet is spent and the rest is completely new.
It would be to cut laminate floors. 8 mm..
I have Mafell and Festool Trion jigsaw.
With which jigsaw does the blades last the longest?
Mafell, Festool Trion, Carvex..¿
Thank you
My F/tool Trion Saw always tended to overheat the blade/s causing premature dulling (& even on occasion burning) through what I assume was friction with the ceramic blade guides. Even if there was an observable "looseness" dialed into the guidance with the onboard key.
Just the nature of the Festool I suspect. I personally consider the Festool jiggy range to be fairly substandard even in comparison to cheaper alternatives. Other saws that I've owed prior: (Elu, Bosch & Metabo 135s), borrowed & used; (Milwaukee, Makita & Hitachi) or owned subsequently (Metabo 140 & Mafell P1) to the Trion never displayed this characteristic.
Of them all, the Mafell tends to stand head & shoulders above all others, comprehensively outclassing the others in power, versatility, dust extraction, speed, accuracy, curve-cutting, lower blade temperature & increased tooth sharpness longevity. All without any superficially discernable blade guidance mechanism whatsoever. As it should, considering the price.
The Trion underperfoms at an even lower level to my (40 year) old Elu bodygrip saw in all abovementioned parameters except power and extraction. Quite abysmally so, really.
Given that Bobbie Bosch tends to make almost all of the world's quality jigsaw blades (despite being rebranded by a host of other "manufacturers") in their Scintilla SA factory in Switzerland, I'm sure that there's something to be found applicable to your specific needs within their range. The short Trion blades, with their Titanium Nitride coating, are actually pretty good examples (being specifically suited to thinner manufactured sheet material) of the Bosch/Festool manufacture/rebranding, but not ironically when installed in a Trion or Carvex jigsaw.
