Just bought my first Festool product with a used TS55 REBQ after upgrading from a MacAllister saw (UK version of the Wen by the looks of it) and its mostly great but just have a couple of little issues with it and was hoping for some help
Really can't complain as it was a complete bargain and they guy even gave me some money back to resolve some of these issues, but now I've got one, I'd just like to give it a tune up. Runs lovely and although it came with a Festool blade I did switch it out to a new one for the fresh splinterguard cuts.
1. the cams that snug up to the guide rails have worn down quite a lot so im fully tightened to get onto the rails nicely, not a massive issue right now but are these easy enough to source a replacement? Can't find any on eBay or amazon.
2. The window in front of the blade was clogged up with a load of sawdust when I got the saw so i took it apart to clean it all out and now when I've put it together the window doesnt stay in place any more and wants to fall down onto the workpiece, is there something missing or is this just from wear and tear?
3. The release mechanism for the plunge trigger was all gummed up and basically meant the blade was never locked up which from a safety point of view I wasn't fond of so again dissasembled this part to have a look, once again all gummed up with sawdust etc, cleaned it all out and gave it a lube up and its significantly better, just still have the issue where it doesnt always want to re-engage the lock unless the saw retracts up with some speed. Anything else i can do to adjust that?
