Hi all,
I have an offer on a ts55ebq with papers, systainer and 1,4m guide rail. It's a little over 3 years, but hardly used. Is there something I should look particularely for, if I should buy it?
It's been used to help renovate a little on an old house, but should look like new.

Cheers,
Jacques.

Hi Tom,

Thanks, I will. Is there something in paticular I should look or listen for? Like forexample dead bearings?
Or something that is prone to breaking?

Cheers,
Jacques.1

Not really. It should give you a glue ready cut, one that needs little or no sanding to be a finished surface.

It will make an unusual sound. It is the result of pulsing power, which is how the speed is controlled.

i would look for excessive end play for the shaft that drives the blade.

I resigned for a used one, and took liberty of buying a new one from my local small dealer, while Festool had the extra good offer. Plus I got another 50$ rebate.
Absolutely satisfied.

Cheers,
jacques.

If mine is anything to go by, when it slowly starts up it sounds really rough, like the bearings are shot, but cuts beautifully.

Yes, I noticed that on new and used ones, untill it spins up.

Cheers,
Jacques.
