ive got an MFT, but want to add a few holes to my other benches.  20mm spiral bits seem hard to come by in the states, so it looks like im either boring a 1/2" hole and using the 2-flute 20mm freud bit to finish size, or its been suggested to use the cmt/amana 20mm boring bit.

to skip the two-bit process, is it ok to use a boring bit with my 1400 that has a min speed of 10k?  I was under the impression those forstner type bits are not suitable for routers at those speeds?

I'd recommend Festool Hinge Cup Drilling Router Bit, 20mm Dia. (491072). Available stateside. Designed for 1400. Works in hard or soft woods.

Edit: .... Sorry for the redundant post. Was typing the reply up as the other comment came in.

Regarding the Festool Hinge Cup Drilling Router Bit, 20mm Dia. (491072).

How deep a hole can this make using an OF1010?  I have a maple workbench that I was thinking of adding some 20mm holes for bench dogs.
