Using Domino with small parts?

Is it possible to join a 3/4" x 3/4" spindle to a 3/4" x 1.5" railing with my domino?  From what I can tell all the tenons are too big. I also think it would be very hard to drill straight mortises in stock that small.

the smallest square section ive got a domino into is 22mm which is close to 7/8

youve got to use the 5mm dominos and cut on the narrowest setting to do it, there is no give in 22mm section

i used the LA-DF 500 stop part 493 487 to do it
