Using dominoes to acommodate wood movement?

I have been struggling for how to attach my table legs to the table.  I have to accommodate wood movement, but prevent rotation.  It just occurred to me that dominoes would be great for this.  If I glue one side into a tight hole and make the other side a wide hole with no glue, it will be free to move back and forth, but will prevent the two pieces from rotating.

Am I overlooking anything here? (I don't need it to keep the pieces together, which it obviously wouldn't do; just to prevent them from rotating.)

Mate, I have a sample from one of my customers who does exactly what you are saying. It works well :)
