Using Miter Gauge Beyond The Table...?

I've come to a crosscut that I would like to make using the miter gauge. However, the piece places the start position of the miter gauge fence and protractor (Incra 1000HD) off the table. I've got a SawStop CTS so it's a small table compared to other models.

What would be the best way to make such a cut?

Thanks.

I think you need to make a piece of table top to mount to the front of your saw, flush with the top of your table saw. Probably want to mount it to the extrusion that guides your fence at the front.

I have tried a few times to do what your are trying to do (if I understand it correctly) and have always have difficulty with the beam of the miter gage (the gold extrusion) tilting a little bit and catching on the saw table top.
I am figuring if you are asking here, it's for something of some importance that you really want the cut to go well.

Maybe s sled makes more sense. Look here for some ideas: https://www.google.com/search?clien...kEHV6qIsAQtKgLegQIFhAB&biw=1191&bih=749&dpr=2

Incra’s sled extends the table, but it is expensive. If for occasional use, shop-made probably makes more sense.

Can the miter gauge be used backwards? (It is how I use “stock” miter gauges) Instead of pushing the work piece with the miter gauge, you push the miter gauge with the work piece.

This is what I do when this happens. I have a Harvey miter gauge that I use normally. The SawStop stock gauge I added a small fence so it can go on the right side of the blade or be used backwards on the left.
