Well just finished this laminate job. The mfk 700 worked very well and easy to use.
After removing the old tops, I cut up 3/4" cabinet ply to size using both of my mft 3 tables. to suppport the ply while I ripped it to size using my ts55 and rails (I forget my 106" rail at home so I just used the smaller one and moved it. I also used the domonio to connect the 2 pieces together and it worked great.
then I applied the side strips and used the router to trim the top and bottom edge of those pieces. using the laminate bit.
Then I laminated the top pieces and ran the mfk700 around the edges and it worked very well and easy. I did not attach the vac hose due to my first time using the bit I did not want the hose to catch on anything and mess it up. If I had my overhead hose holder then that would be different.
and it really made a big mess with all the laminate trim off all over the place! but I had tarps down and it was a rental house and I had my vac to clean it up. That was safer and easier then worring about the hose catching and buying more laminate.
I could not take any pictures of me actually using it to laminate since I was working alone that day.
so overall, I was very pleased with the results and would recommend using this tool for this type of job...
