Vac-Sys Question

I own the 203148 Vac-Sys Vacuum Clamping System, pump and one head.

If I am expending the system into a pump with two vac units, which additional unit I should get? 580062 SE 2? Do I have to purchase any other accessories in order to make the system work?

I'll let [member=57769]TylerC[/member] or [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] confirm but I think you're correct, the SE 2 is all you need. How are you planning to set yours up? A member recently showed off his Vac Sys cart and it has me thinking a mobile clamping station might be the ticket.

Here's an old thread on mounting the VAC SYS to the MFT3.  Response 24 shows the specs.

I visit Lee Valley two days ago and picked up the Vac-Sys. I asked what was the difference between the SE-1 and SE-2. The unit base are the same the only differences are the heads. On the SE-1 you get the large round head and on the SE-2 the Oblong head. In addition with the SE-2 you also get the pipe & fittings which is not included with a separate SE-1. If you buy only a second SE-1 you will have to get the pipe and fittings separately. This is where the 25$ difference between the SE-1 & SE-2, that I have been told.

Thanks so far I like it I havent had a chance to use it yet as I am in the process of organizing my workshop.  I plan on making a cart for it but an MFT3 cart is first.  I look forward to actually using it regularly and not have to fiddle with clamps.

The mobile cart have a torsion box that also serve as an outfeed/assembly table. I have the VAC-SYS bases attached on two T-tracks for flexibility and ease of setup. The next step is to make a MFT/3 top that will sit on the torsion box with Festool like profiles. I will update the initial post with pictures of the actual state.

Beautiful cart.  I do not have a ton of space so I am first going to build this cart and then if I still have room I will build a smaller cart just for the Vac Sys.  I wish I had more room.
