I just grabbed the vac sys se 1 at my local Woodcraft here in Honolulu. They only had one and I figured I could get the SE 2 online but I have looked everywhere, all over the world and just can't seem to find it. I'm really bummed out because this would be great on its own for smaller parts but a lot of the work I do really needs a second clamp.

I'm desperate is there anyway I could get my hands on a SE 2? I would even be ok with a used unit if I could find one.  :'(

What are you making/building that requires 2 vac/sys?  There are other options but unfortunately most anything you find will be drastically marked up.

The likelihood of finding another dwindles everyday and there will be times it is needed for large material like doors.

Vacuum clamping can be done pretty inexpensively.  The vac/sys biggest positive is the tilting and spinning head.  However once you go to a double head set up you loose the spinning benefit anyways. As far as spinning the part on a single head it still takes effort to reach down unclamp rotate and re clamp the head.  In the time it takes to do that you can just un vacuum the part and rotate it manually too. There are times Im sure the spinning and rotating is nice but realistically 95% of the time its more gimmicky to me.  I use vaccum clamping almost everyday and have never been bummed I couldnt tilt the part.  Spinning would be nice sometimes if it was effortless but clamping/unclamping each time only makes it slightly better at best.  Most parts that require more than one side edge banded are of easily manageable size.  Large pantry type doors that need 2 heads cant be spun anyways.  so we are talking door and drawer fronts for base and uppers all easily spun by hand.  This is why I was curious about any special application for the 2 headed vac-sys.  Im trying to see if there is something Im missing that makes a 2 headed vac-sys set-up so much better than one that cant spin.

You can have 2 small cabinet doors on them and spin them as you spray your finish on them. You can set them up with parts and domino them. That will speed up the process. They don’t have to be used together for one large item.

That's exactly what I use the 2 heads for, sanding 2 drawer fronts at the same time or Dominoing 2 boards at the same time.

I love my 2 head setup. Work a couple of small pieces. Stop and swap them out and repeat. I feel like it makes the workflow faster.

[eek] you guys are vacuum clamping after finishing?  Are you only finishing one side? What happens to the back side when you spray the front?? No marks from the suction cup? seems hard to believe or you allow a really long drying time between front and back.  Plus I wouldn't want to mask off or have overspray on my vac-sys.

I haven’t used mine for finishing. I just saw a video of Simone doing it and thought that was cool! So I mentioned it as a way to use the dual heads independently.

Thats impressive Cheese but then you also need two Dominos or 2 sanders one for each hand.  I dont have the coordination for dominoing 2 boards at the same time... I assume thats what the 3rd super sloppy on the 500 is for.  I "might" be able to work 2 sanders at the same time but wouldnt trust it on some veneer I would be to scared of burning through.  Just when a guy thinks hes doing some BAS someone shows up and says watch this.  [scared]

Funny you mentioned that...that's also been done.  [big grin]
