I have 2 complete sets of the vacuum hold down system, I barely used 1 set the other is basically brand new,I know these are discontinued and was thinking of selling one, then I said to myself what if a part goes bad on one of them? can't get replsacement parts right? so my question is sell 1 or keep both (I barely used the 1 but they sure are handy) if i should sell what is a fair price?
thanks

I think it comes down to remaining utility v's what you'll likely to get. Vacuum systems are adaptable so you can always incorporate other brand parts if you hit a failure.

I've got a twin head set with multiples of all of the vacuum faces that I've barely used .. but one day when I have space I'll put it into solid use.

I'd say 98% of the parts are still available from Ekat, I just ordered some last week.

I don’t know how important that is in this particular case, but one thing to keep in mind is that parts from unit two are as old as parts from unit one. … Might be a non issue for some parts, for other parts maybe not?

However, I’m still in the camp of keeping it unless you could really use the money for something more important/ vital to you. If the last years have shown us one thing, it’s how fast stuff gets not only more expensive but also how availability can crumble fast. And that second unit you have is paid for and doesn’t require feeding. ;)

Kind regards,
Oliver

If you're really worried about parts availability, I'd just grab a spare filter, check valve, and the o-ring in the tap valve assembly of the SE1/2.  Alternatively, you can always put an alcheapo metric ZFC pipeline type vacuum filter upstream to protect the unit.  I'd sell the second set since you've barely used 1 as it is.

note: I don't have the vac sys, but have extensively studied it as I'm building my own vac pods.  The mentioned parts are those that will see the most general aging/wear and I'd consider consumables, much like motor brushes.
