Vanity for my son and daughter in law

I used the LR 32 gadget and several other ‘Festools’ to build a vanity for my son and daughter in law. I used 3/4” and 1/2” Baltic birch plywood, tightbond III, some dominos, staples, euro hinges, West System epoxy, General Finishes Snow White milk paint, and General Finishes high gloss polyurethane.

Nice!  What is the top made out of?  I don't think I've ever seen a bathroom vanity with pullout drawers like that.  That's a very nice touch!  I also like how you boxed around the drain line.

The top is Poplar butcher block from Home Depot (left over from kitchen shelves). I stained it with light walnut (powdered) stain from Woodcraft, followed by many coats of West System epoxy. Then sanded smooth and sprayed the General Finishes Gloss Polyurethane with an Apollo 835.

The pull out shelves were needed for additional storage. Their mid century house has precious little built in storage, and the bathroom is kinda narrow, so the vanity isn’t very deep. The way my DIL stuffs thing onto shelves, after I built the top shelf, I decided it needed to be modified. I felt it an absolute must to protect the plumbing.

Very nice job on the vanity. I like the pull out drawers as well. Keeps the vanity from becoming another closet you can't find anything in.
- That receptacle is GFI protected right
- Depending on your local plumbing code adoptions that POS corrugated PVC tailpiece may or may not be compliant

Yes sir. The receptacle is a GFI.

The corrugated PVC tailpiece was from the old vanity. I replaced all of the drain pipes with properly fitting and spaced pipes a day or two after this picture was taken. I found out that my X was on her way over to critique the vanity after the final instal and all I could think about was not being in the same zip code as her so I didn’t get a set of final pictures.
