I have a lot of Festool, so this is based on what I see compared to them..

-Well made, no question
-Nice accessories

-As others have said, this should have had a depth stop on the plunger similar to what is on the Routers.
-It should have come with a  hex wrench for attaching/detaching the adapter (pennies on the dollar.)
-Festool should have designed a flat base for cutting/trimming bottoms of doors (think of something similar to the domino base.) that would be knob adjustable for height above the floor. That way it would rest flat on the floor.
-Dust collection should have at least been attempted (Festool at least tried on the jigsaws, only succeeding with the dust on the top and useless on the underside of the board being cut. )

And if someone suggests this would have raised the price too high...you can't be serious.. if it had all these accessories and came it at $800/$900, we green coolaid drinkers would have still bought it.  Rob

I am a serious hobbiest, not a daily user of the Vecturo, so my opinions are from that aspect of woodworking.

The depth stop issue isn't a big deal with me as there are easy work arounds.

The amount of sawdust I've experenced has not been a problem. A smoke collector would be nice.

A Domino-like base is something I would pay for... Something like a horizontal plunge fixture. I'd like to be able to clamp such a base to the workpiece as the Vecturo is difficult to keep steady as it first contacts the wood.

I don't think you have enough clamps there lol [emoji6]

I plan to show the picture to my wife who comments about the number (paltry compared to the OP's collection) of clamps I have.

Thanks for the public service you have done for us woodworkers!

That was just about half....You will also need to tell her you need variety of types/sizes....

Wow.  Is that a store or your shop.  That looks like a dream I've had a few times, I have near a hundred bessey clamps, but you have ALOT.

Yes, my shop...dream shop...

You must be a direct account with Bessey!  Looks like you buy them 12 dozen at a time!

Great shop and color coordination!

I don't think I have posted the shop pics here.

A question came up at WoodWorkingTalk about how many clamps do you have and it led to me posting the whole shop (Tools and wood room.)

Yes the shop currently has three color themes (Powermatic mustard/black strips, Bessey red/black, and Festool green/gray.) I have two Powermatic signs I need to put back up on the knee wall supporting the clamps.

I have a Bessey banner that Bessey sent me (currently hanging above the clamps) after seeing my "wall of clamps".

Unfortunately, I have no Festool banners or posters that I can put up in "Festool Land"  [big grin]. There is a banner/sign company that is just down the street that I could probably get them to make up a "Festool Banner." I would move the Bessey banner to the other side over the smaller misc clamps and put the Festool banner over the Festool corner of the shop....

That is an amazing collection of clamps - did you accidentally put a zero at the end of the quantity box when ordering them?

I once asked for a length of 1" thick rope and this 10 ton truck, full of rope, arrived. My boss went mad but luckily it was an error at the depot. Despite that I was made to justify the quantity so I built an aerial ropeway, scrambling nets and a death slide in one of our national parks. I then let about 300 children use it for a couple of weeks. I managed to get it taken down before the rangers found out.

I might copy your idea putting the CMS OF on a base with drawers and castors - with an OF 2200 in the CMS (and my arthritis) it is getting difficult to lift as it is.

Nice workshop - it looks as though it is part of an exhibition somewhere.

I just watched out for sales on the clamps. It is interesting, how the price used to bounce around in the middle of the night on clamps. I got some good deals for sure.
The mobile base for the CMS does help a great deal. Get it with locking casters though!

Hi Rob,

I also put a in and out feed table on my cms table and I notice you moved your power supply as well.

can you tell me how you bolted it on so its configured that way? or possibly show me a closer picture,
also what am I seeing on the right side of the bottom of your table? am I seeing a red switch?

As I placed it in a similar location but under the table. Your location is much better.

PS don't you find the table so excellent after getting the infeed? I wouldn't want to go back.

Benjamin,

I just used the existing hole in the leg and used a 1/4" bolt to attached the existing on/off switch. I mounted a second switch (with removable key) that is wired between the router and the Festool switch.

If I want to change a bit or adjust it I can kill the power at the second switch and remove the lockout key. It is also good because when I am using the sliding table, once it is finished the cut, I can tap the second switch with my knee and shut off the router.

You may not have noticed but I also re-drilled the slide table support bracket and centered it on the overall CMS. Without doing that the sliding table either favors the infeed or the outfeed side of the table.

Here is cropped picture that kind of shows how it is mounted. I will get a better picture tomorrow night when I get home from work.

Rob / Benjamin- Is the location of the Festool switch the only thing impeding adding the infeed table? In other words, if the switch is moved, can I simply add the infeed table (which is technically an outfeed table, correct?), without doing additional modifications to the CMS unit or the infeed table? THANKS in advance-

yes thats it. both sides of the table are exactly built the same.

the in feed is really nice to have. go for it .

wow Rob.... nice work on centering the sliding table and the additional switch... really nice.

do you have a solution for micro adjusting the table fence as well??

I made one out of a woodpecker device. I'd like to hear your solution on this if you've done something.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to on micro adjust.

I use the miter fence attached to the sliding table as a reference to setting up the table fence to make it parallel to the sliding table. From there, I use card stock or a feeler gage to tweak the fence backward/forward until I get the exact cut I am looking for.

Please show me some pics of the micro adjust you are referring to. Thanks.
