Ok, maybe old news by now, but it's finally up on my site. Festool's new Vecturo, Wings, Aprons, Da Toolie and more - available and shipping on  December 1st.  Seems Christmas is coming a bit early this year.

As always, your credit card will not be charged until it ships.

Bob,
I have looked at several vids about Vecturo.  They show how accurately it can make a plunge cut (and other cuts).  They show about limiting the depth of cut.  But I don't find any info on how deep it can plunge.  Also, in a deeper plunge cut, does the blade have a tendency to wander off course.

As I watched the vids, I was thinking about a trestle table i am working on (a few minutes here and a few there and not much done at any particular time.  I will have at least four rectangular holes to make and if the tool can make those with less setting up time and cutting time than with drill or router and/or chisels, (or with drill and jigsaw) it might find other uses.

I have an old Fein Multitool, but I spend a lot of time resetting blades as they twist loose all the time.  I use it maybe once or twice every couple of years, but when I need it, it is the only tool to use for the operation.  It looks as if Festooy has solved that twisting problem.

Fein changed the blade fitting years ago solving the problem. Your one must be very old. My previous mm was bought in 2008 and that has the quick release blade system it never came loose ever.

I think I had the MM before I had any of my Festoys.  I tend to hang on to tools forever.  I have recently started dragging out a few of the tools my father gave me years ago. I just started playing with the old Stanley router plane.  Once i sharpened it, I have cleaned up some dado's as well as some wider channels and a couple of very wide tendons.  That has been fun.  I have not found the extra blades for it other than the 1/2", but I remember putting the small box right where i would be able to find it.  The only thing is, i don't remember where I would be able to find it.

I also have a whole lot of steel handscrew type clamps that i have put into one of my small sustainer drawers.  Those have come in handy for several very small projects.

Several oil sharpening stones I have used for years.  I have an old Rockwell/Delta 9 or 10 inch bandsaw that must be over 60 years old.  That is probably new compared to some of Darcy's toys, but i can pick it up without needing a forklift  ::)

My Vecturo plunge depth is just a little bit over 2" and that is with the 78mm blade.

The accuracy is totally dependent on aligning the blade with the intended cut line.

I found it extremely critical to make sure the piece being cut doesn't move and the blade isn't touching anything as the power is turned on.

Like a lot of the more complicated Festool products, there is a learning curve.
