OK, so I am starting a topic with no content  [big grin]

Hoping that this can become a reference (sticky) as to which blades fit which oscillating multitools. And maybe a good explanation of the various types of mountings.  Which types are compatible, cross compatible, backwards compatible , etc. There have been a number of topics  and questions on this over recent years and I still can't easily sort it out since it is spread through out the forum and there is also incomplete or over ridden terminology involved.

I would like to keep it to  just the blades for ease of reference. Blade adapters OK, but not other accessories.

Those who know.........................  please contribute to this topic. I think it will help a lot of people.

Corded Vecturo uses an outmoded mount that was exclusive to the Fein Supercut before the adoption of Starlock.
Cordless Vecturo uses Starlock (Fein Multi-Talent), Starlock Plus (Fein Multi-Master) and Starlock Max (Supercut).

Before Starlock, Bosch came out with the OIS mount that much of the industry has adopted after Bosch moved onto Starlock.
I'm not aware of Starlock/OIS blades being interchangeable without adaptors.

Starlock and Starlock Plus blades are backwards compatible with the immediate previous generation of MultiMaster.

Plunge base for both Vecturos requires the longer Supercut/Starlock Max blades only made by Fein (or sold as Festool).

There's your jump off.

The Fein 63733005010 adaptor and clamping bolt will allow you to fit Fein Multimaster accessories on to the Festool Vecturo OS 400 which uses the Fein Supercut 2.0 mounting. I bought this adapter and it works fine with Multimaster accessories. But it seems that there is a problem when using the Festool plunge base: the adapter protrudes a half-inch which means that there's a gap between the Multimaster blades and the magnet.

The Fein 35222952050 adapter is required to fit Starlock blades on Supercuts tools with a quick in lock such as the Festool Vecturo OS 400. I haven't used it yet, but it seems that this adapter will accept Starlock, Starlock Plus and Starlock Max accessories.

I'm trying to get hold of some Festool 500129 blades for my Vecturo OS 400, which are the long ones that work well with the magnet on the plunge base**, so I was doing a bit of research on this and came across the following pics on the Fein site, which is a useful reference:

**Am I right in thinking you can only use the long blades with the magnet?

According to the Festool live video on the OSC 18, only the long blades work with the magnet and turn speed down to 4.
Question - is there an adaptor to allow other blades to fit the OSC supermax fitting?

If your question is can you put the long blades on non-starlockmax, then no not that I could find. I picked up a Fein Multimaster last year with the intention of using it with the plunge base. Unfortunately, I didn't do enough research and I can't use long blades with Starlock Plus.

I sold my 15 year old Fein to my brother in law, and bought a corded Vecturo about a year after they came out (so I could get and use the accessories like the plunge base). I also bought ALL the adapters so I could use the myriad collection of blades I had accumulated.

Problem is now ANY time I want to use the saw I grab the blade I want for the application and then spend ten minutes fussing with WHICH adapter, WHICH bolt, and WHICH orientation of the adapter to use to mount the blade I want.

AND - about a year later the Fein died, brother in law took it to the local nail gun repair shop, they sent it to Fein - who LOST it, and sent him the newest most powerful model as a replacement.......

Last - Every time I need it now it seems that it's out somewhere about a hundred feet from electricity......... This IS a tool that deserves to be cordless.

OK, so is this correct?

  No adapters

          Bosch Starlock fits        Festool OSC18.

Bosch Starlock Plus fits Festool OSC18.

Bosch Stralock Max fits Festool OSC18.

Ahhh, but you can use long blades with Starlock Plus tools:

I'm coming from Dewalt and Milwaukee multi tool and finally jumped on Vecturo.
I already have many blades for different occasions.  Do Vecturo accept blades from Dewalt/Milwaukee? or is there an adapter I can purchase? It seems like many are only talking about Bosch and Fein blades aside from Festool one.  I can't seem to find definite answer if Vecturo accepts universal blades.

It only works with Starlock. I recommend Bosch/Diablo. They are expensive but last forever. Fein blades are meh.

Ah... so looks like I can't use current blade sets I already have... but good to know Diablo makes compatible blade! :)

Starlock is much better system from my experience. The good thing is the OSC18 is compatible with all types of starlock (regular, plus, max), unlike Bosch. They don’t have a cordless tool that works with Starlock Max blades.

I've used this Fein adaptor on my OS 400 Vecturo.

And here's a photo of the Fein adapter and the Bosch carbide blade on an OS 400. These Bosch carbide blades are really killer in plaster, they just keep cutting forever, I'd imagine they're also very good for nails.
