Vecturo Dust Collection ??

This is me grinding epoxy grout out of the gap between the tile countertop and the backsplash tile, in preparation for replacing the tile countertop with granite.

Note that one hand is holding the multitool and the other is holding a Festool CT36 hose that is sucking up some very fine epoxy dust from the grout.

Question - does the Vecturo include a dust collection port for scenarios like this?  Seems like it would have been very useful in this case.

Festool does not offer a dust collection but Fein does and it should fit the Vecturo as it is more or less identical. I used mine cutting drywall and it worked great  I got mine from Beaver industrial Supply, they seem to carry the complete line of Fein and many other lines.  Fein 92602075018 DUST EXTRACTOR - SUPER CUT

There's also the sanding kit with dust extraction. It isn't Festool-level dust extraction, but it works pretty well. I've used it while cutting and it gets up most of the dust. I'm going to make a little cardboard shroud which I think will improve its effectiveness. It's also nice to have a little emergency sanding kit when you don't bring a Festool sander and discover you need to do some sanding. It's great for smoothing out a threshold and whatnot. The only drawback is that you have to take off the Vecturo's accessory adaptor for the plunge base and depth stop.https://fein.com/en_us/accessories/...2-074-01-4/?back=1&start=app&productId=206904

I have thought about getting the Vecturo and the Fein adopter to collect dust.  Guess I just keep hoping the next Vecturo will come out shortly with dust collection.

It is strange that given 1) Festool's primary concern with dust collection, 2) the fact that Fein had already developed a DC adapter for its oscillating tools, even if it was meager; and 3) the fact that the Vecturo is essentially a rebranded Supercut: that there was no DC option attempted for the Vecturo.

Did the dust collector fit the Vecturo?

I may be wrong, however the dust attachment for the Supercut needs to attach to the rear of the  Vecturo which is the position that the Plug-it cord resides. There is no rear attachment point on the Vecturo.

One could ask the question why it's more important to have a Plug-it cord than dust collection...when Festool boasts about their dust collection capabilities.

They still sell the RAS 115, RS 2, HL 850, RAP 150 et al without Plug-it cords.  [tongue]
