I picked up the Vecturo set yesterday. I was making some walnut trays for Christmas presents and thought the plunge feature would be a snap for making the handles.
I watched a video or two, scanned the manual, and put the plunge base on the Vecturo. I was cutting wood so attached the wood blade. Bummer. Didn't cut at all.
Finally figured out I have to use the long blade with the plunge base. Obvious to me now. Went back to the manual. Could not find that warning anywhere. Guess Festool figures no one is stupid enough to try the short blade (marked "Wood") with the plunge base.
So, I've got the long blade marked "Universal" in the plunge base. I line up the cut and start the plunge. The Vecturo cuts about 1/4" and bogs down. I have to lift the cutter out of the cut to clear sawdust. After several attempts, the cut is complete.
Maybe, with more experience, I'll like the Vecturo more than now. Anyway, I've got 30 days to decide.
