Just a quick note about the excellent Vecturo multitool. I was on the fence about multitools for years. Last year I broke down and bought a Porter Cable version of the multitool. It was cheap but as we Festool fans all know ya gets what ya pays for!! So when the Vecturo came out I was quite intrigued by it and the accessories that are in the set version. After using the plunge base I can say this is easily the finest multitool on the market. I have not even tried the other ones but am very very happy that I purchased this unit. For sure get the set version as the extras distinguish this fine tool and place it above any other multitool on the market. The soft start is an addition benefit. Yes it may cost more than all the others! YES it is worth the difference. Highly recommended!

I have said that I would wait for a cordless Vecturo. However, after handling one a few times at Woodcraft, I find myself experiencing that tingling feeling in my wallet that suggests my credit card needs some exercise.

This is another case where touching the tool makes all the difference. If I never met a Vecturo in person, it would be much easier to resist. Now there is a connection that calls to me over the miles; buy me, buy me, you know you want me.

I actually have a couple of situations that would be made easier by the plunge base, so I can rationalize the reversal of my position on wanting for the cordless.

So even though this is not the Vecturo of my dreams, I may end up walking down the aisle with one in the near future.

Does anyone have experience with the Imperial blades for the Fein Supercut (which will fit the Vecturo)? Has anyone used the Imperial Supercut Multimaster adaptor? Any issues with these on the Vecturo?

What are the most significant improvements of the Festool over the Porter Cable? Accessories and attachments aside, I'm really interested in the cutting prowess of the tool itself. Is is smoother running and easier to control freehand?

It has better power, soft start, feels comfortable in the hand. And if you are an older wood worker as I am you will like the blade clamping lever MUCH BETTER!!! On the Porter Cable unit one has to squeeze against a quite firm spring clamping mechanism to release or change the angle of the cutter. This can be painful to someone with the beginning or advanced stages of arthritis!!
