I got a sneak peek at how the new training facility has turned out and I have to saw it's a good improvement over the old facility. What that means is that we will be scheduling some end-user training classes in the near future so stay posted.  Seems like there have been a lot of messages to me about this and I just wanted to post a quick update. You may see some classes posted later this week for November-December time frame.

Who's interested and what curriculum are you interested in: introductory, cabinets, routers, ...?

Thanks!
Shane

We had talked about a Festool solid surface class earlier this year.

Absolutely, Chris. It's going to happen. I don't have the specifics yet but it may even happen before the end of the year. I know Steve has the materials and has worked up a class plan. More information to come ASAP.

Shane I would be  interested in routers, and end user training. January/Feb would be best.
Thanks
Vijay

Is there anyway to stack courses back to back?  It might make it easier for those who have to fly and stay in a hotel.

I'd take the cabinet and the router class, but I'd prefer to not make two trips to do it.

[scratch chin]  Pictures?

Maybe something completely different.  A working shop session to build specified cabinets for a charitable organization, like Habitat for Humanity.  Perhaps an onsite trim session, maybe led by Gary Katz, using his techniques, pre-assembling trim with 4mm dominos.  Useful results are always the most rewarding.  [big grin]

There are plans for additional curricula being added to the end user training program, including doors/drawers and solid surface at a minimum. I know those two are in the works. Not sure about any additional class formats, but I can forward the suggestions.

Shane;

Project classes would be great. Cabinets, furniture, advanced router and domino classes.

I would be interested in all those classes except the solid surface after the first of the year.

I would love to attend any class that Steve taught.  Or Brian.

Great teachers!  Fabulous guys!  They really go out of their way to make the learning experience special.

Steve,  Congrats on a new "home"!

Steve actually pulled them up and took them with him. Those were his, not original to the building. They are in the new location and look great.

Greg

Shane, can you tell us more about this training facility?

How often are classes?  What is length of each class?
What is the cost?
Where in Vegas is the facility?
I am curious why the training facility is in vegas, where is Festool USA?

I've seen cork flooring intended to be glued to the substrate at places like Great Indoors (where I bought some).  Everywhere else I look, they have backed cork intended for a click-together floating floor.

What type of cork was on that shop floor?  It's not a bad idea for one area of my shop where I don't have gym mats.
