Vegas training center move nearing completion

How often are classes?  What is length of each class?
What is the cost?
Where in Vegas is the facility?
I am curious why the training facility is in vegas, where is Festool USA?

Thanks for the questions. I'll do my best to answer them.

There are classes held quite regularly. The training centers were originally set up to provide training to our dealer network. However, beginning just over a year ago, we began offering training classes to our customers. There are generally about 3 end-user training events per quarter at each training facility, for a total of 6 per quarter. We also have a training facility at our US headquarters just outside of Indianapolis, IN.

End-user training costs $100 per class currently. I believe there are plans for a solid surface class which will likely cost more due to the costs of the materials.

The facility in Vegas is actually in a suburb of Vegas, Henderson.

There is a facility in Vegas to service the west coast while the one in Indy services the east coast.

I'm new to the Festool world and I can use all the help that's out there. I just made my first purchase last week (domin and 1400 router and mft/3 table) so you can tell I'm in this for the long haul. Give me a date and time and I'll be there.

Gayler,

Welcome to the Forum!  [welcome]  The classes are posted here on the forum as soon as the dates can be finalized.  You will need to check back regularly because they fill up fast.  I have been fortunate enough to attend classes, and besides being extremely informative, they are fun!

thx Shane....

A few more questions  [cool]

Typically, how long are these $100 classes, a few hours, a few days, ?

From previous classes, can you bait us with some titles?  Solid Surfacing sounds GREAT!

Who teaches the classes?

How many students in each class?

Are you in the industrial park in Henderson?

You may want to look through the "How to" section of the forum for some of the previous posts about classes. There are a lot of details in those posts.

The classes are two full eight-hour days.  Previous class curricula have included Intro to Festool, Cabinet Construction, Advanced Routing Techniques. Future classes may include other topics like Door & Drawer Construction, Solid Surface, and others.

We have two trainers who teach the classes. Sometimes a third person, our product manager, will assist.

Generally, a maximum of eight people per class.

The Henderson location is 125 N. Gibson Rd., Henderson, NV. It used to be the store for one of our dealers.

Thx Shane.... good area, easy access for us locals, off I215

These classes sound great, I would like to attend for sure...

Is there a means for us to get direct email when classes are posted, or must we check back here on reg. basis to find them?

In the past, how fast do they sell out?

The only way to get email notifications currently is to click the "Notify" link on the "How To" section of the forum. This will email you any time there is a new thread started in that section of the forum, which is where I post info on new classes.

The classes have filled anywhere from 24 hours to a couple of weeks.

Thx Shane, forgot about the "notify" option....
still gettin the hang of the forum here...

Just saw the router class may have a seat open, just filled out application, sure hope I get in...

BTW, I think its great this forum exists, and employees such as yourself remain so connected with their customers.  I have always felt forums are the most under utilized tool for companies and customers to stay connected, we both gain so much, as this forum demonstrates.  It's no surprise that Festool is one of the first I have seen to capitalize on this on a large scale.....  There is no better way to create customer loyalty than by working close with customers.  These classes are another way to accomplish such... Kudos to Festool....

i remember how he felt about that floor its a great shop floor but spendy

I've seen cork flooring intended to be glued to the substrate at places like Great Indoors (where I bought some).  Everywhere else I look, they have backed cork intended for a click-together floating floor.

What type of cork was on that shop floor?  It's not a bad idea for one area of my shop where I don't have gym mats.

I don't know what was used at the training center, but I did just install some cork flooring in my bathroom from Jelinek. They offer a bunch of options, including floating and glue-down, as well as cork mosaic, which is what I installed.
