Today I have started to improve my bench setup, I need  something to assist me to hold kitchen and wardrobe doors etc when routing hinges.

I have a few sheets of beech throughout ply left over from a job, so I am going to use that, I don't like MDF at the best of time.

I have cut the sheet to size to go vertically on my existing work bench. I intend to use the Veritas Parf dogs to support the door
to be worked on and clamp with some Festool lever clamps.

I intend to drill the holes with Festool CENTROTEC Forstner 20mm. I have marked the holes and centre punched the slightly.

I have ordered the Festool CENTROTEC Forstner 20mm, Parfs and Clamps from Axminster power tools in the UK.

I'm not sure I understand completely what you are trying to achieve  [unsure]

Do you mean supports like in the attached photos?

Hi Garry
Yes, I am going to fix the drilled board to the side of my bench, use the parf dogs to sit a door on vertically and clamp the door to hold in place while I router it.

I intend to follow up with a few photos as I get it done later in the week. :)

That's what I thought you meant.

Good thinking. Something like this?

Yes, just like that... Thanks.

Should be completing it Wednesday if the stuff I've ordered arrives on time, Axminster power tools are pretty good.

Managed to get it done today. The Parf dogs are on back order so knocked out a couple of temporary oak ones for now..

Cleaned up the existing top surface and give it an oiling..

Did start drilling in a jig to keep it square to the surface but was taking too long so did it without jig in the end. It only for resting doors on so hand drilling would be good enough.

Hope you like, thought I'd share.  [smile]

That certainly gives a lot of versatility to your workbench. I might just steal this idea!

Starting using my new setup today, and worked well.Made life a bit easier.
