VEVOR Chinese stuff at Home Depot

Banggood also has loads of Vevor stuff with often very cheap prices or deals from the sellers.

I recently purchased a Vevor outdoor refrigerator to replace a 16 year old Jenn-Aire that died.  Unfortunately the compressor was not available anymore for the old one.  So far so good.

I'm still thinking the web sites look "identical" because of the orange. They otherwise have very different layouts based on the screenshots.

I agree.  But that shade of orange is practically a trademark.  If another jeweler’s packaging “just happened” to match Tiffany’s blue, it would get the same reaction.

That shade of orange is Home Depot.

Ya, and cadbury lost its Purple when it tried to over extend.  Nestle and the courts struck it down.  HD orange would fall under the same, especially given its a retailer so it's claim would only apply to other brick retailers, not a tool and equipment brand.

I just had fiber pulled from the pull to my house through conduits I installed 35 years ago.

They used a yellow Vevor fish tape that was like 200', maybe 250' long.

So I jumped over my shadow as we say, and purchased something from Vevor - despite all my personal general reservations.

I had a Chinese made automatic retractable garden hose reel on one of our properties that gave up after 3 years. I wanted a new one and the cheapest offer was from Vevor.

The supplier of the first one didn’t want anything to do with it since 3 years had already passed, didn’t even bother to quote a repair - which I would have authorized. So considering that it was their private-label product and it didn’t matter to them, I decided I could as well cut out the local middle-man all together and get a Chinese product directly from a Chinese vendor.

Vevor offers a 5 year warranty on this product, we will see.

What I can clearly see is the improvement the Chinese have made to these reels. While with the first one, I had to drill my own hole through the case to get water and sludge out, the new one I received today has a nice big hole and additionally features a lid on the top that can be opened to clean and service the reel. Clearly they are improving their products upon feedback and experience. The old one was completely enclosed, except for the hose feed.

Also the reel can be easily un-hinged from the wall mount, wich is also an improvement over that reel from 3 years ago.

I’m curious how this will hold up.

For another property, I bought an Australian made, professional automatic retractable garden hose reel from my trusted supplier at roughly 6 times the cost of the Vevor. Completely different animal, obviously. We will see with that as well. ;)

I think we will simply have to adapt to these new normals, as with everything else going on in this world. I’m not getting excited with this stuff anymore, just live my life. ;)

Kind regards,
Oliver
