Hi everyone,
I had the opportunity to use my RAS115 to smooth the curves on a some large coves on a bookcase top that I am making. This is my very first video where I actually talk and you can see me (or parts of me) -- so please be kind
.
This tool is amazing and with 24 grit Saphir paper, I was able to smooth the curves on all four sides in less than 45 minutes -- removing a lot of material. This would have taken me forever and a day with a hand scraper and while I still need to use a scraper to get the final curve smoothed, this cut out about 90% of the grunt work. I used routers to hog out the basic shape and then used the RAS to get the curves close to final dimension, finishing up with a curved hand scraper. I love seeing "how to" videos and so I wanted to contribute something. Hopefully this will help a prospective buyer see some of the capabilities of this amazing sander.
Thanks for watching.
