Hey guys.  I wanted to share the circle cutting jig I made for some projects I have planned in the near future.

I hope this gets the wheels turning for some of you to get out in the shop and make one for yourself.  Enjoy.

Hi Eric

Nice circle jig and a fine video.

I'll just throw in a few pic's of my own homemade circle jig.

I had to make som holes with a 1 inch radius...impossible to do with the MFS system! So I found a piece of scrap plexiglas and made what you can see in the pics.

...and making larger circles with a radius up to approx. 12 inches.

...and it really feels good to make your own jigs [cool]

I'm planning to find another piece of scrap plexiglas and make a longer version with some more center holes (longer piece of plexiglas on the opposite side of the handle than the router. If you get what I mean!?)

Kind regards
Henrik

Henrik you beat me to it.  I was laying in bed last night and smacked myself

In the head .  I should have used the festool gear I have.

Thanks for sharing.  Your jig looks great!  Now I know how to improve my jig .

I'll mess with it when I get home from work.

Eric

Great Idea. I had to pull the old PC 690 out last week. Made an absolute mess. Now the bar has been raised.

Again....thanks Henrik for opening my eyes to a better solution for my circle cutting jig needs.

Why couldn't I think of this yesterday?  [doh]

Here is the new and improved jig.    The only thing I need to do is find a longer M6-1.00 screw or bolt.

I can use the guide stop and rods for better accuracy.  Plus this is a lot easier to set up.    [embarassed]

To bad the longest M6 screw or bolt Lowes carries is  60mm long.  I  plan on buying a M6-1.00 x 100 bolt  and remove the cap of the knob of the

guide stop so I can use the knob.

I guess the video I made is all for not.  Oh well,  at lease I learned something.

Again, thanks Henrik,  this is another great example of how the FOG members can helps each other out and take our  Festools to another level.

[thumbs up]

...always a pleasure to be able to help or inspire.  [smile]

I'll just post a picture of my "next generation circle jig". I found a long piece of plexiglas but haven't had the time to make the jig.

I want to make it a bit longer on both sides of the handle so I can make larger circles. Adding som more center holes.

And I want to add a disc fitting perfectly into a hole in the jig, so I can fix the disc to the board or piece of wood with som double adhesive tape...to avoid putting a screw into the board. Then I'll mount som sort of a cross bar with wing nuts to prevent the jig from jumping of the disc/rotating point.

Hope that made sense...or feel free to ask.  ???

Kind regards
Henrik
