I have been informed that it will be released for sale in Germany in October.
So if it is released on the last day of September, then that makes sense.

However, it will not be available in Australia until March 2012.

Bummer......

I really want to buy one, but if it has no balls in impact mode, then that would definitely be a deal breaker for me.

I have lost count the amount of times I have stated that I want an awesome impact driver, not a jack of all trades.
The Makita 3 in 1 was a failure, I sure hope Festool have got this right........

I've got a 9.6V DeWalt impact whose batteries are dying.  I don't think I'll buy another impact driver as I really don't find them that useful in furniture making.  But I loved having it when I needed to do construction.

I owned the Makita BTP140RFE.
I could not get rid of it quick enough.

It weighed 1.8kg. Which is ok, not as heavy as the 18 volt Protool Quad Drive.
It only had 50 Nm of Maximum Torque.
It only had 700 rpm no load speed.

Basically it had no guts whatsoever, but apart from all that, it was a beautiful drill.......

I can't speak for JMB but personally I love Makita gear.

My go to SCMS is the Makita LS1013.
I dropped it off the workbench last week.
It fell about 3 feet.
Still works beautifully, no calibration issues, thank god.
If I had done that with my Kapex, I would have cried like a baby.

I have had a few up's and down's with regard's to Makita drill's and driver's.

But in general, they are great tools, for that price range.

Makita makes different tools for different countries so there are differences between similar models made here and other places that can account for likes, dislikes and internal differences.  As an example, I've been looking to get a demolition hammer and the model that I'm interested in is only sold in the U.K.  A similar looking model, but with less power and less vibration reduction is what's sold in the U.S.  The other one is not coming to this country.

Nope sorry not the cordless stuff the other tools I have nothing against just the cordless.  They are very under powered, batteries don't last long, and the life span of the batteries is very short mainly because you can damage them very easily by over loading or charging them to soon  or just a faulty charger nakering the batterie and other reasons.

I have said this all before on fog so I'll stop talking lol SOZ!

local dealer is dropping makita cordless because of the returns but keeping the corded stuff because it is good stuff. Milwakee is gonna take its place

dropping makita  [scared] ?? be careful with that, the last guy i know who dropped his makita 18v had the battery pack break off! it's holding together with tape now, dangling in all directions! [tongue]

I'll get one as soon as they're available. I've been really pleased with the T15. I probably won't get a plus set, this would just fill the cab install/ rough carpentry/ deck building spot in the quiver. Not really interested in drilling with it.  I could have used this week before last, but still laid 90 sheets of subfloor, 1500+ screws with the T15, no problem. This would be great for 100mm plus batten screws etc.

The Dealer I always use is  Rexcrystals and he does not sell Makita cordless stuff and is still doing very well he hates the stuff and hates Dewalt!   Only really Sells Festool and Milwaukee

My local dealer is very big on Makita and Bosch  mainly Bosch really  he sells Festool but he is very out of touch he doesnt even know the Rotex90 exist still and doesnt sell the CXS  he only just found out about the Milwaukee RedLithium 2 days ago  I told him I own a few Redlithium stuff already he said how did you get that already I told him they have been out for ages!

Thats why I dont buy from him only get screws glues and stuff from my local Dealer  and    Rexy is my Festool and Milwuakee Dealer  lol and any other tools I want brilliant!

Im looking at the new Fein I want it! Im calling him monday to see if he can get it me! New Cordless Fein!  It aint cheap! £600  see if he can do me a deal lol!

When I followed the link you posted on another thread I saw something about it on his website, but I can't find anything on the fein website, so it's probably made by some other company. I'm currently waiting for the black blades for the arbortech to become available (they are supposed to work in harder brick and mortar than the standard ones), but the blades for the fein might be interesting aswell if they work well.

As for the makita cordless tools, we have several 14.4 li ion tools we are very happy about (2 regular impactdrivers, 2 brushless impactdrivers, and a set with a drill/driver and a rotaryhammer (sds-plus thing). We had the regular impact drivers since they were just introduced only problems we had was 1 battery that died after 1.5 years, which got replaced under warranty (allthough the warranty normally only covers the batteries for 1 year), and the first version of the charger started making noise (worn fans), but when I talked to a makita sales rep about it he replaced both the chargers for free for the newer version (which play the tune when the battery's full)

On topic: about the new festool impactdriver: the proportional speed/torque setting might also be an interesting feature, the other brands only offer 2 or 3 settings when they do have settings.

I have seen them in my local dealer them black blades for the Arbotech I own the arbotech and when my blades where out I was thinking of buying them but I never really thought why are they black lol!  So your saying they will cut quicker because they are coated with something?

A fein aint a arbotech replacement they are to completely different tools. So just wondering why a fein blade would be of interest to you seen as you mentioned the Arbotech ?

Why do I want the brickremovel set from him dude?  I just want the New  CORDLESS Fein

We do a lot of remodeling and I have both  the arbortech as160 and the fein supercut (two actually, both corded, one with the quick release).

The main reason for getting the arbortech was for toothing brickwork, so I mainly use the long straight blades (and mainly the smaller one they call the "switchbox"blade, because the other one is higher than one brick. BUT most of the bricks and mortar I encounter are too hard to be cut with the arbortech (the blades dull very fast, and if you keep at it anyway the blades turn blue due to overheating and the teeth fall out).

The black blades are supposed to be harder and able to cut harder materials, I've been asking my dealer about them since I learned about them on a constuction fair in februari, but they only had the bigger blades in the black version and couldn't get the ones I needed yet.

When I got the link to rexchrystal's site I saw a brickremoval set for the fein supercut mentioned, and all I could find was a small picture, no price and no detailed information about the blades.

So, since you were interested in getting a cordless supercut and talk to "Rexy" a lot [wink], I thought maybe you could ask what those blades were about, and if they were worth getting if you already own an arbortech.

Oh I c!    Well jst my opinion I dont think the Super cut will Cut it when it comes to cutting bricks  like the Arbotech can but its worth a try  ill ask Rexy!

Bosch 18V drill: Max 1500 RPM

Bosh 12 V impact driver: Max 120 NM torque.

So as a drill it's mucho faster (2600 RPM) than what I haved, and as an impact driver, just a little (20%?) less torque.

So maybe ok? Maybe it's some of that Festool magic mojo where less of their power stands up to more of the competitors?  [smile]

The key thing is, if they can driver long screws (as in the video..... what kind of wood is that anyway?) then maybe it's fine?

A 500 HP muscle car doesn't matter when the speed limit is 65 MPH.....
