Videos of New ETS EC150 and Hose Wrap

I don't like the new hose wrap. It's bulky, costly and heavy and it's not even sold separately?
The zipper might still damage the edges of veneered boards.
I use a simple TechFlex nylon cover in which I also include the power cord. Some installers tape around the edges finishes it of.
Much sleeker, slimmer and only cost €2,12/meter (1" version).
They even have a kind of Festool green (Neon Green).

That Techflex stuff looks good, thanks for the tip.

The Australia Tax strikes again - apparently €2.12 converts to $AUD10/metre [emoji35]

Ben,

There is an Australian Website with list of distributors in most capital cities and some larger regional centres.

See -
http://www.techflex.com.au

However I am yet to investigate beyond finding this website.

For the Techflex users: what size do you use to hold a 27mm or 36mm hose + cord?

I see on their product website there are several overlapping sizes when considering the min/max expansion range: http://www.techflex.com/prod_pet.asp

My online dealer (MSC Direct) also only has it in black color.  It looks like the Ogre color best matches Festool with the green/black weave!

Diameter 1" (25,4 mm), expansion range 15,9-41,3 mm, works best for 27 mm hoses.
Diameter 1-1/4" (31,7 mm), expansion range 19-44,4 mm, works best for 36 mm hoses.

Beware that you order enough length because if you push the sleeve together it reduces the length of the sleeve.
FI. Hose length of 3,5 m needs at least 5-6 m sleeve.

The online retailer i use sells that stuff but only in black. I am tempted to purchase some but was afraid it would not be much better than the hose as it looks to also be plastic?

I also did not like the unfinished ends but as you suggested figured i could make something myself that would work?

So you like this stuff then. Are you saying it keeps the hose from snags and does not tear edges?
It's worked for me for 5 or 6 years now, yes it is plastic.  Nothing will compleaty stop snags if the surface veneer is poorly attached and microns thin, but AFAIR, apart from that I've Had no snags or tears.

If your online supplier doesn't have other colours then order from a different one  ::) but don't forget to get enough shrink wrap for the hose ends

Markup at MSC is absolutely insane. I can never justify buying anything from them.

Grainger if I need something in a pinch, but usually Zoro (which is the B2C arm of Grainger).

I purchased 1" Flexo PET in ogre, 25' length. Because the Flexo expands in diameter, it also reduces in length, so for 3.5 m of hose, you'll need 17-19 feet of Flexo. At the same time purchase some heat shrink tubing to finish off the ragged ends of the Flexo. Secure the Flexo at both ends with a couple of small nylon tie-wraps and then heat-shrink over them and the Flexo. See the picture below.

I purchased from these people, https://www.wirecare.com, I was satisfied with the service & price and everything was in stock.

Make sure you order everything you need from Wire Care at the same time, if you forget an item and then order it 1 minute later, their system treats it as 2 separate orders and they have no way to know that the 2 orders need to be bundled together. You'll be charged for 2 separate shipments.

i ordered 1 1/2" techflex off amazon for about $1/ft and it's worked very well over a 27mm hose and cord.  I got 25ft, cut it in half and had enough for 2 hoses.
