I have just used the Surfix system for the first time and really love the results.  I used the system on a small project and used a foam brush as the applicator (this worked well), however, the 150 pads were overkill.  I have an RO 90 and thought I would use the smaller Vlies pads.  However, I can't find the 90mm pads anywhere but the Festool catalog.  Does anybody know if they are still available?

[member=10093]otis04[/member], the Vlies that's included with the Surfix (the green and white) have never been available for the RO 90. However, there are a few Vlies options for the RO 90.

Vlies for RO 90

The green and white Vlies from the Surfix kit is only available in 5" and 6" sizes.

If I recall correctly there is no grit in the Surfix Viles pads. They are to work the product in not abrade.

Tom, that's right. Sorry if I didn't make that clear in my response. But there is a difference in the green/white Vlies and the brown Vlies.

I just cut little squares of Mirlon out and stick them onto an interface pad. It's a whole lot cheaper and easier to get on to any sander the situation calls for. I think it wears just a tad faster than Vlies but not enough to complain about.

Thanks, for some reason I thought the green and white were available in 90mm.  The Yankee in me hates to cut down the 150!

I make my own triangles and smaller circles out of Nortons woven sanding pads.  That's all the 150's that come in the kit really are anyway (except they have some bonded Velcro like stuff on one side).  Just using the sheet stays attached just fine the few times I've used them.

Can get them many other places.  I typically get a few sheets each time I'm at Woodcraft.  Amazon bulk pack is much cheaper if you like having lots on hand.
