Hello,

I just got a festool dovetail jig and the half blind template.  As I am routing the dove tails with my OF1010 and festool dovetail bit the top board rotates, a little and the board is scrap.  What router speed should I be using for dovetails in maple?  Has anyone else had this problem?.  I don't think it is from not tightening the bar it was RFT.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Put the router on the highest speed and you'll have better luck. I've experimented with half- and full-speed in maple and the latter is better.

ok... for one, those knobs stick like crazy to the paint and it's very hard to tighten and loosen the knobs without a slight modification.  What I did was inserted brass washers from my local ACE Hardware store between the knob and painted bar and lubed them with a little bit of white lithium grease.  It's been years and I've never had to re-lube them.  The difference this change makes is night and day.  If you are still having any issues after that just add a little grip tape to the underside of that top clamp bar and you're all set.  The VS600 is the best jig to bang out standardized drawer boxes in a hurry.

Chris...

I noticed some people with the vs600 have 3 knobs on each bar.  I do not have a middle one?  Is this extra? should I get it?
