There are a lot of debates on this forum. “Which Domino is better DF-500 or DF-700?” DF-500 is sufficient for most woodworker’s needs.  I do own both, but I mostly use DF-500 machine for cabinets, chairs and tables. I built these chairs as an example of sufficiency Domino DF-500 machine.

Slats and stretchers are custom made oversized “dominoes”.  Board was cut in 10mm wide strips then rounded over. For slat’s mortises I used the widest domino width, for stretchers the narrowest.

For assembly were used 12qty. 10x50 dominoes.
Legs are 36mm (1 ½”) planks. I cut ends of dominoes at 45 degree angle.  This brings more glue surface, and more reliable joint.

It’s very hard to find 5mm round over or 10mm bullnose router bits, so 3/16” round over router bit was used for making slats and stretchers.

All sanding job was made with Rotex RO-90 and Granat abrasive pads. Oh, man, that’s something!
Finish is surfix oil.

I love the design, and I wish more of my customers would use walnut.  What a cool way to integrate Festools into fine furniture.

Beautiful work!!  Great explanation of the benefits of the DF500 -- also, excellent execution!

That is nice! I love the look of walnut.
I had the same idea to build a set of plantation shutters and use the domino and make the slats, bit I need to buy the Domino yet!
Thanks for proving it can be done.

Nice job and an excellent description of how useful a Domino Joiner can be used to build furniture.  I have both Domino Joiners and use both of them for furniture work depending on the size joint.

Nice.  The 45 domino joint inside the leg ....... very slick!

Do you know about how many Board Feet you put into this set of furniture excluding any used due to errors if any?
Also how many hours put in?
(Trying to get a rough idea of cost).

It's hard to tell. I've  bought second grade cuts and left overs.  For back legs (8 qty) were used two boards 12" x 1 1/2" x 39". The rest are scrap, cut offs and left overs.  One of my  leg's blank was lost because of small crack.
Most of my time took design and sanding. I never made soft cushions before, so  it was  additional learning curve for me. I built mock up chair from 2x lumber first, then corrected some dimensions.  All dimension's and Domino's fence settings were written on the mock up chair. (I use metric for all dimensions).
I'd say three days without gluing time.
