Want a new Festool Catalog?

I have a few catalogs. I ordered a few tools and received them from various dealers.

My favorite is actually the mini Festool catalog for the Domino event I got from Bob Marino this week. In the words of my 4 year old daughter...  "It's so cute!!"

I would offer to send a few of these out but don't want to get chastised as I am sure 100+ people would PM me and I only have 3 in my possession.

Lottery perhaps?  Pick numbers?

Bryan

First three to respond?

...  i wonder how many orders you placed with this dealer since 4/02?  perhaps if he was sending you a package anyway he could have thrown in some swag to boot.  i realize that nothing was implied but isn't it how things tend to work in the real world?

As it happened,  I placed an order with The Tool Nut on 4/03 (Invoice #60346). And the order was in no way prompted by the offer.  [wink]

I didn't say I was angry, I said I was disappointed, which I am. I think it's important to remember that none of us asked for anything, it was offered to us. I was in business for myself most of my working life, and I can't remember ever offering my customers gifts that I didn't have to give. Not a good thing to do.

Can I live without the catalogue and t-shirt? I'll try my best.  [smile]

I'm with you, John.  First, no catalog... and now with the summer equinox come and gone.  Each day is getting shorter and shorter and like a setting sun, marks another year closer to sweet, sweet death.  The saving grace is we have next years tax season to look forward to.    [tongue] [sad] [crying]

Well, I'm bummed, but I'll get over it!  Thanks for offering up the free swag and keep up the great work!  The dealers on the FOG are awesome!!

Some of us are still enjoying THIS year's tax season.  [smile]

Got mine yesterday.

Thanks for both t-shirt a catalog. Now I can read in style.

Got back to the shop this afternoon to a marvelous surprise! Thanks to all who made it happen.

There are a few shipouts that are prepped n ready to go that have been making it out the door the past few days.

I think it took almost 3 months to get mine and I replied to the email the same day.

I ordered a few things once and it took almost a month before stuff showed up.

Sorry man, I am not that patient when other dealers have stuff out in a day.

Sean,

While you were up north, did you come across any catalogs or t-shirts?

Still waiting for mine after I sent the email to Peter on April 2nd.

Mike A.

I submitted my email at the same time as you (never received either), but I think it is time to move on.  I am sure you can get a catalog from Festool USA, any dealer or download.

Most people probably cared more about the shirt.  It costs quite a bit to make t-shirts, and I don't know if Sean and the Boys knew demand would be so high.  It probably ended up costing them money, between printing and shipping out.  Plus if my memory serves me right, the catalog was a somewhat limited supply to each dealer anyways.

Sean, my thanks to you for the original offer, I had completely forgotten about it till I saw this thread come up once again. You probably ran out before you got to me, I completely understand, you're not a bottomless well of tshirts and catalogs, no hard feelings in the least. I got a catalog anyway so I'm good. I've got a big drawyer full of t-shirts, more than I ever wear so I'm good there too. If a shirt is still earmarked for me please send it instead to someone here whose life seems turned upside down over this.

I did not bring this up because I still want or need a catalog.  Another kind and very responsive dealer on FOG took care of me a long time ago (as well as a few orders that I would have considered giving to Sean had it not been for the way this mess was handled).  In April, I was very much a newbie (still am) to Festool and this was a very poor way to treat a potential new customer.

Sean made this offer and I took his word for it.  If he got in over his head on this one and could not fulfill his promises, a little honest communication and some real customer service would have soothed my feelings and would have given me enough confidence to trust ordering from Tool Nut in the future.  And maybe I would have become one of his loyal customers like some of you.

Then why would you say this earlier, did your wants or needs change in two hours?

Time to put on the big boy pants and get over it already

Mike

I am not looking to debate you on this, but the fact that you wouldn't have trust in ordering from someone because you didn't get a free t-shirt is a bit much.  I didn't get one either, but I have ordered from Sean despite that because I find them to have great customer service, fast shipping and the one time I had an issue, it was fixed quickly and to my satisfaction, that in my book makes me have trust in a vendor.  Not all of my purchases come from Sean (Tool Nut & Festool Products),  so I may not be considered a loyal customer but I can attest to them being a great dealer.

It is your money, and you can spend it with the dealer of your choosing.  I just find it strange that you ask about the catalog and the shirt and then go a different direction with how can you trust them because you didn't get a free shirt a few hours later to be a stretch.  If Sean was generous enough to send you a shirt would that mean he becomes a trustworthy or better dealer?  If you don't want to buy from him fine, but don't try to tarnish a reputation when you have no experience with them.

We may continue to have different view points on this, but in the end, everyone has a right to there opinion.  America, isn't it great!!

Mike I have an extra catalog. PM me with your detail and I put it in the mail next week. Btw I think ToolNut is a great dealer as is Bob Marino. I have zero complaints with both of them for any purchase. ToolNut store is worth a visit.
