Want but can't afford a Kapex, any suggestions?

I'm going to mess around with a lower stand, build in some table extensions instead of relying on the MFT/bench/table saw for stock support and maybe pin the thumb safety, see how it works out. I sure wish Festool had designed the saw with a horizontal grip...  [sad]

Thanks for the suggestion,
Bill

Let us know how this works out.
I agree, I wish they had designed it with a horizontal grip as well.

I remember coming from my dewalt 777 (older model) to my 718, going to that horizontal grip was like putting on a comfy pair of sneakers  [big grin]

The horizontal grip has been shown to cause people to torque the saw while doing a bevel cut or bevel and slide cut even worse.  Not too many people focus on how they're directing the force from their arm during a cut.  That's why Bosch had come out with the rotatable handle.  I don't know why they went back to the old design.  I forgot to ask.

Yes, that's true.  I like the Kapex handle, it's vertical and in-line with the blade so you'd need to go out of your way to deflect the head by your grip.

hi . iv just got a kapex a week a go and man what a tool. i was finding it hard to justify the price but its well worth it, my advice is if you can hold out until you can afford it you wont be disappointed
