I normally always use credit card which has a direct debit from my current acount so it gets paid of straight away. As you said if you have any fraudulent problems the bank justs give you your money back no questions asked. I actually had a txt from my credit card saying some one tried to draw £3000 from your card 3 times. I called up and said I have not authorised this they said no problem leave it with us and said is der anything else we can help you with. I was like well wa if they try it again can we not find out who's doing this they said no but if you want we can send u a new card. I was like hell yeah send me a new card I don't want no thieving little person having my details. They cant b bothered it happens a lot they don't seems to be bothrred to do anything about it.

From what I understand, Tim has closed his business and left the industry altogether.  I hope everyone was made whole before he did this.  I can only wish him the best in his future endeavors.  [sad]

I'm adding this comment  as a warning to other dealers, as well as any still unsuspecting customers.

If a dealer gets an order from Tim/Festool Junkie for Festool products and the shipping address is different from the billing address, do not process this order - you are more probably than not, never going see those funds.
Happened to me last week and left multiple messages with no calls returned. Only answer, sorry to say, is the intention was to take the tools and run...and I'd be out almost a grand. Not cool; rather sad.

Yes Bob, it's very unfortunate that a reputable dealer, contractor or any business has to deal with so many things now days, let alone getting ripped off.  We spend so much more time being safe than we ever did before. i guess times are changin! Quite sad to think our country has gotten to this disrepair. Good luck to all of us!

That would make me want to call Vinny and Guido to have a "chat" with the offender...

Normally it would, but not in this case. I caught it in time and canceled the order. I suppose if I did process the order and had a problem, I'd think differently. Tim has had a run of bad luck, made  bad business decisions, from what I understand, had a death in his family, and whatever other demons he's fighting. Who knows?
That is no excuse for the behavior listed throughout this thread, which at the least is annoying and at worst criminal - and I wouldn't be surprised if some customers have had to persue legal remedies to get their money back.
Am I ticked off about the probability of him trying to pull a fast one on me? Of course, but less now than last week. As much sadness as anger; in fact way more sadness than anger. I knew Tim; he was my training partner at the Festool routing class a few years back and over the years, would spend hours on the phone talking about business and all sorts of "stuff". We were competitors, but friendly competitors.
I did make my post here, after some serious thinking about whether it would be seen as mean spirited, or piling on, or whatever and decided - after a week to do so, in the hopes that customers as well as other dealers, don't place or fulfill an order and find themselves battling it out with their credit card companies to get their cash back.
I say this in all sincerity, I hope Tim makes his way out of this mess, makes restitution if applicable, and goes on with his life.

I must say that I admire your compassion, Bob.  I remember something my dad said once when I was in my teens, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

  Willy,

I understand the adage. I am not making excuses for him and would like to think that (in fact I  know that) in similar circumstances, I could never do what he's done. Having said that, I'm sure he's in some type of pain - yes, I know, mostly of his making, but still on a human level, it's  tragic, more to be pitied than hated. Some people have come back from way more dire straits - I just hope he's one of them.

Watching this from afar, I truly admire your compassion and concern. Maybe you guys have a finer sense of humanity than I do.

At the end of the day we all have to deal with personal crisis and you just get on with it. A famous quotation from Winston Churchill says "when you are going through hell, the only thing you can do is keep going"

Whatever demons he may be dealing with, the bottom line is you dont dump on your mates!

He's bang out of order, and if he had tried to have me over like that I would not be a happy bunny!

And to think you guys still have the right to bear arms!! hell I hope he can sleep at night!

All credit to you for the post!

I don't get it Bob canceled the transaction. Who is to say that was definitely a bad transaction? What if Tim was trying to buy something to send to a client to make their purchase right? Am I missing something here? What if it was anyone that new the Junkie was down and taking advantage of that fact to make a faulty transaction, like any employee or a million people on the net?

I see no proof anyone set out to intentionally rip anyone off.

I have heard guys say Tim did this or that for 50.00? That makes no sense at all. Even a 1000.00. A guy like Tim is not going to rip someone off for that minuscule amount, something does not add up here. He took orders and then maybe could not get the stuff, I highly doubt he took money with the intention to run from the start.

This is a bad thread. Totally conjecture and accusations that can not be proven. All that can be proven is that he did not send some clients their merchandise and I have heard nothing to the tune of 5000.00 or any sum of money that would make any sense at all to steal.

I wouldn't have posted if I wasn't sure about. I don't read minds, nor pretend to, trust me - after speaking with a few other dealers - and those in the know - privately, I'd be fighting for my money.

Guy,

I hear you. And I am not a "there but for the grace of God, go I" type of guy. He made his choices and he's paying the price; I just don't want others to very possibly get stung. I'd like to read sooner rather than later, that he's gotten out of this hole and is on to better things.

Gentlemen, I don't think there's any need to continue to elaborate nor should Bob have to justify his warning. Take it or leave it for what it's worth.

The issues surrounding Festool Junkie have been very well documented by this point. Enough so that I think members and dealer alike now know to heed the warnings. I'd like to put this discussion to bed. The Festool Junkie website seems to be no longer operational so I think the risk is minimal at this point.

I'm glad we have an open community where the issue was able to be brought to light and discussed in a civil manner.

Edit: I would like to take the opportunity to extend my apologies to anyone who was unfortunate enough to have had a negative buying experience and had to deal with the fallout.

I thought long & hard about posting this...and thought not to...but since this presents another angle, here goes.

I bought, paid & received (in a timely manner) a Walko bench from Tim/Lincoln Hardwood last April.  This past Friday I received a call from a collection agency trying to get me to pay for the shipping of the bench.  They were trying to collect $248 from me for R+L Carriers, Lincoln Hardwood's shipper at the time. Apparently LH/Festool Junkie did not pay the bill.

I talked to the credit card company and to my family attorney and all indications are I am a third party and already fulfilled my consignee obligations when I paid the bill.

What is interesting is the continued wake of dealing with them....9 months after the transaction.

Ok, I think it's officially time to put this thread to bed.

Should you have ongoing issues with Festool Junkie, I would recommend that you contact your credit card company and/or an attorney for options to protect yourself and for legal advice.

This thread is now being locked.

Edit: Should you have any issues with this decision, please feel free to PM or email me privately. Thank you.
