Warranty registration

When you purchase a new Festool power tool, do you need to register it? If I remember, the seller supposed to register it for you. Is that correct?

I just got a ETS 125. I wanted to get it from BM but his site says he doesn't ship to Hawaii.

What if the dealer does not? I called Rockler, and they said that they do not register my festool purchases.

I believe Rockler headquarter does it at the end of each month, or at least that's how it's supposed to happen.  If you're really concerned you can call Festool to make sure it is sorted out.

Guys, I know I've said this a couple of times lately, but the ability to register your tools yourself is in the very near future on our website.

I don't know of a single instance where warranty service was denied because a dealer failed to register a tool.

That being said, it's always best to keep a copy of your proof of purchase. My recommendation: make a photocopy (since most receipt paper is heat sensitive and fades over time) and put it under your systainer insert.

If you're concerned about it, shoot me a PM or email with your full name, address, phone number, which tool(s) you have and your date of purchase.

Dealers are supposed to register tools on your behalf. Not all do.

It would appear to be different here in the UK Shane!

In the last 12 months, I have brought 3 different Festools from 3 different Festool dealers and on each occasion, i have had to register the tools myself. Personally, i dont mind this as at least I then know that it has been done. The gaurantee for each tool then gets sent through by Festool to your registered address. No problems!!!!!!!

Yes, different here. No 1+2. There's currently an automatic 3 year warranty.

When I got my domino last year I bought it from Warren at toolfest and he's got a clever gizmo set up in his shop. He's got a festool display that has a barcode scanner, he scanned the tool then scanned his dealer card and finally my festool customer card. Less than a week later I received my warranty through the post from Germany. How's that for German efficiency ;D

I,m off to the Festool roadshow next Wednesday and hoping to order/ buy an MFT 3 and use one of  the £50 vouchers I got. I will ask the Festool dealer then what his and Festool UK ,s policy is. By the way, I rang the dealer yesterday to see if I can use the voucher on an MFT as it is not a power tool, and they rang back and said YES!!!!!!! Result!!!!!

German efficiency is legendary in my business. I buy most of my Kitchens direct from Germany, and it is very rare that they make a mistake, and if they do it gets sorted PDQ...!!!

Is some countries, not the U.S. or Canada, Festool customers receive a card that can be scanned that uniquely identifies them in the tool registration system.

My experience is that Highland Woodworking in Atlanta registers Festool products but Rockler does not. I do keep the receipts.

Actually, a relatively small German kitchen manufacturer called Stormer. Good quality but a bit pricey at the moment due to the exchange rate and the strength of the Euro against the Pound.  Here's a link to their website:- http://www.stoermer-kuechen.de/en/

I receive a file upload from Woodcraft every month that has tool registrations for all of their locations. Just make sure they have your information (name, address, etc.) at point of sale. A very small number of them come in as "cash customer" sometimes.

Anyone know where I can find the T-Nr number for my MFT/3 Table? I have the serial but can't find the T-Nr in order to register it for the warranty online.
