I just finish up a laundry room cabinet project. This is the first time I have built a cabinet around the washer and dryer.
I am wondering how most people do these type of installations. Do you either lengthen the hoses and power cords so that you can pull them out past the cabinet or do you make a removable top?
This customer wanted easy access to the shut off in case of a disaster. And I don't blame him, this is why he is getting a new laundry room. His old washer had a leak and flooded out his upstairs laundry room.
Because the washer is sitting in a plumbed catch pan, you cannot slide the washer out of the cabinet.
Here is a cleat system I did in order to make the top easily removable yet solid enough that the spin cycle would not move it around.
