My 7-8 year old Festool CT22E Vac (240v) is rated for tools up to 2400watts according to the Festool sticker at the rear. However another sticker under the tool power socket flap says the max wattage is 1200watts. This sticker has no Festool logo or colour, it is black with silver printing.

So far there have been no problems powering my Festool collection including a QF1400 and T55REQ.
However I wonder if I will have problems with a Kapex when I purchase one?

Another question is whether this sticker was placed by Australian electrical regulators?

Stephen,

Ignore the lower rating sticker, as you suspect it is probably a regulator thing. Same thing happens here in the UK, and in the states as well.

You shouldn't have any problems with a Kapex.

I have noticed other brands of vacuums have similar 'Max 1200W' stickers on the power sockets.  My CT26 is fitted with a second power socket.  This also has a sticker stating Max 1200W.  Like Sal commented, my Kapex runs fine off the Midi's outlet (& CT26)  Does seem like Aussie regs...

This has been talked about plenty of times on here. I asked festool about it way back in 2007. My 110v midi came with max 500 watt sticker on it. Just ignore it.
