We lost Wayne Tinker Feb 2025

RIP Wayne, we will miss you and your great stories. You have accomplished many things along the way. A wealth of knowledge that you shared with us.

Many years ago, Johnny RoundBoy and his partner (Kate) made a wishlist trip to New York City and I went to meet them along with several other FOG members and took a trip to the Toolnut. Wayne was part of the group. What an interesting guy, and the stories he could tell. Even at that time it was very evident that the years as a mason had taken a physical toll, but you couldn't tell by the look on his face and the stories he told. I know that I looked forward to reading his tales here. RIP Wayne!

So sorry to hear this. Never got to meet him in person, but with his way of telling stories, you felt you'd known him for years.

One thing always stood out when thinking of Wayne. Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed all his stories and they always brightened my day. But when he often measured time by stating how many moons went by, well, that always brought a chuckle and made me think!

RIP, Wayne

I'm coming to this a little late. I was thinking about Tinker recently, wondering how he was doing, and if he was still with us. While not really unexpected, its still a little sad to hear about his passing. Like others have said, Tinker's stories were always so enjoyable, and I would read every one with such delight. The man was a treasure that enriched the lives of all of the members here, and I'm sure even many more people in his hometown. If I could make the kind of positive impression on the lives of even a friction of people that Wayne Tinker did, I will have lived a full life. Wayne will be missed, but never forgotten.

Still, 1931 to 2025 is a good innings isn't it.
My mother got to 90 and and then died quickly which I figured was about as good as it gets.
