Yes , size does matter.. Im a high end custom cabinet installer, and most crown and base i install are too large to cut in a nested position in the 10" kapex miter saw . I realize they can be cut in the laying down position using both miter and bevel settings but speed is also important so cutting in a nested position is essential along with the fact that larger crown is often slightly warped thus wants to "roll" when you try cutting laying flat .
So , festool guys ... you want to sell alot of kapex in the usa ? make a 12" version and I will feel justified in spending over $2000 for a kapex / stand setup ... Festool products are virtually the best in every field , but festool is the only major manufacturer that DOESN'T have a 12" miter saw on the market .. What's up with that? Come on festool engineers, show us what you got [big grin]
