Many of online dealers ship UPS or Fed Ex, and as we know - and feel, rising shipping costs can sting pretty badly. So, about a year or so ago, after some consultations and checkin' out, I started using an increasing common "alternative" method called UPS SurePost for the smaller packages (under 10 lbs). Essentially what this entails is have UPS deliver to the USPS, not the end customer. USPS will then take that package and be responsible for delivering that package to the customer.
While not a bad system, this sometimes added another day or two or three to the delivery time and the tracking system was often confusing to the customer. To add to this bad brew, if a package was lost, I had no ability to file a claim. Bottom line for me is - the savings in shipping costs is far outweighed by having a second rate shipping system causing customer dissatisfaction. To those customers experiencing any of these such delays, my apologies.
Lesson learned.
UPS all the way.
