About a week ago I had my favorite Wera ratcheting screwdriver fail at the composite shaft behind the ratcheting mechanism.  I submitted a warranty claim with this picture:

A few days later I got an email telling me to expect a replacement part and yesterday I received a complete new screwdriver set with all of the bits.  Nice!

That's great. I love to see companies just take care of it. It's not worth the time of Nickel and Diming you over it.....and that word-of-mouth praise is advertising, that can't be purchased any other way. (and very cheap in comparison to the normal way)

+1 for Wera customer service. I had an Impaktor bit holder throw in the towel on me around 18 months ago - I just shrugged it off and bought a replacement. I casually mentioned it to a Wera rep at a tool show, and two days later the new upgraded version showed up, along with a box of 10 Impaktor diamond-coated PZ2 bits and a 20% discount voucher for anything else I wanted to order within the next 90 days.

It doesn’t get any better.

Wow! That is impressive. It would be great if more companies were that confident in their products and protective of their name/reputation.

Indeed. I showed my appreciation by ordering a whole pile of other Wera stuff using the voucher - including replacement PZ1, PZ3, PH2 and PH3 10-bit packs, two extra Impaktor magnetic bit holders, a set of T-handled Allen wrenches, and a set of their beautifully-made 'Joker' ratchet spanners.

'Service is the silent salesman'. It's true  [big grin]
