Hi Everyone,

I did a Wera review about 2 years ago using kit that I had bought from a DIY chain. I was at the recent D&M show here in the UK and had a chat with the people running the Wera stand. I was rather impressed by their 1/4" Zyklop Speed Ratchet and the new Toolcheck-Plus and they have very kindly sent both for me to film. I had not handled the Zyklop before and must say it is a very sweet tool. I know the Toolcheck pretty well as I bought the original a while ago and use it almost every day.

Here is the link:

Hi Frank

Many thanks. I started buying Wera bits about 15 years ago and bought the original Toolcheck about 2 years ago (or just before I made the first Wera video). I use that sweet little ratchet from the Toolcheck almost every day - it is amazingly tough and easy to use.

Cheers.

Peter

I could have used those tools today, using an small umbracto wrench, I dropped it on the ground and it took me a good 5 minutes to find it again..

Wera might be in my future..

thanks to you peter i just bought some joker wrenches metal ratchet and some sockets. i try my best to stay way from complete sets simply because i ALWAYS have half the sockets looking brand new cause they never get used. they just take up space and create more clutter.

Thank you Peter for another great video.....very informative and timely. I recently purchased a set of Wera screwdrivers and began poking around at their ratchet sets because I really like the quality of the tools and how they feel in my hand. Looks like I'll be making another Wera purchase shortly.

I did a quick search and the sets are also available in imperial as well.

Does anyone have comments on the durability of the Zyklop? I've seen negative comments elsewhere, and it seems these are now made in Taiwan?

I'd get a set but not keen on paying German prices for something that's not made in Germany nor up to German 'buy a tool once' standards.

i bought the metal version with the slim handle...i did a brake job on my car and they held up fine. fine as in I wacked the handle with a hammer repeatedly to loosen and didnt make a ding on the finish, i was pretty impressed.  i found the plastic rotating sleeve on the extensions are kinda worthless cause i normally use two hands to speed up install or removal of a bolt so that sleeve just gets in the way.
