Wera Zyklop

.....I haven't broken a tip yet using an impact gun.  I did break 2 non Wera #10 torx bits in a row before I invested in these, no problems since.

I ruined my Wera slotted bit the first time I used, twisted it up no problem at all.  I don't know if this indicative of the overall quality of these bits since I haven't used any of the others in the set I have.

Does the Wera lasertip cutting or the diamond dusting of tips make a real difference in use?

I've been eying these screwdrivers for a while in the local Bauhaus and been wondering if they really are worth the money?

Also does anyone have experience of the modular sets with interchangeable tips like the VDE Vario range - do they stay put in the handle when used hard?

The Lasertip wears off after some days of use, the tips of my used Wera screwdrivers are as smooth as any other screwdriver.

Those interchangeable VDE screwdrivers are quite fine - I've a package in my notebook bag - but I wouldn't recommend them for regular use. Changing the tips while on a ladder with only one hand available is no fun.

All my screwdrivers are wera including the compact unit. The coating does work very well for screws but does not last very long, then they become a normal screwdriver. The compact unit is my go too driver when I need something in my pocket. Overall they are good screwdrivers.

Thanks fellows, I ended up picking a couple PZ2 & PH2 diamond bits to trial and ordered a Kompact to see how it fairs.

I have had the Kompact for about 4 months and love it.  I ordered the Festool Twinbox - I hope others have jumped on this addition to the line - and found that by splitting the twin box I can stuff that into the belt case for the Kompact.  Those little Torx bits saved my ___ last week.

I love the Kompact.
