"Wet" sanding / finishing a finish

I just acquired an ETS 150 sander, and have been busy sanding and prepping some furniture for a shellac finish.  It's a joy to use

Typically, I would "finish" the shellac finish to a satin sheen by hand sanding wet with paraffin or mineral oil using 600 grit paper or 0000 steel wool.  Can I use my new ETS 150 to do the same thing?  If so, what paper would be best?

You can use a white Vlies pad to get a result similar to using 0000 steel wool but it's not ideal to use it with that sander. A rotex would be better with the speed dialled down to 3-4 and a green polishing pad fitted.

Have a search on the festool uk website for their oiling and waxing pdf. It may have some useful info for you.

You can also use Granat wet. It has a synthetic backing.

Additionally, it is very highly resistant to clogging.

Depending on how hard the wood is, you will most likely see swirl marks at low angles using the 150/3.  I would recommend hand finishing the final coat.
