Just got to say, what a great group members this forum attracts! [thumbs up]

In the last two weeks I have had two separate members PM me on different topics and they had product they thought I might like and offered and did send it to me at no cost! (Okay I have to buy one a beer if he gets to MN).  One item was a Festool decal and second was two red latches that make my Festool First Aid Kit more visible from the side and from all but from straight on back view. My crew even noticed the Red side latches within minutes of arriving on site.

A few weeks before another member noticed I was interested in a product for my TS55. He offered his that he was not using at a great price.

Just got to love this site.

Cheers,
Steve

Whoa, whoa WHOA!  Man, I gotta change my name and start over here on the FOG [tongue].  You are lucky! (and right as well).

Great bunch of guys, really helpful, with egos in check.  And a lot of that credit goes to our great moderators for encouraging that type behavior.

Now send me something!   [big grin]

Agree 100%. Yes, sometimes it's the PM's, emails and phone calls that can make your day. In my case, regarding the MAC vs PC, many PM'd me and a few even called to offer their opinions. Also, when I ran into some snafus with the IMAC, the offers of behind the scenes tech help were there. I won't embarrass those who did so, but I was, and am, very appreciative for that.

A few years back, my Dad had died in an accident. I was unprepared for this, and took what small amount I had in savings, and bought two suits, and a burial plot next to his for myself, and my wife. About a month later, I needed money, and I had put my only Festool (TS-55) on the classifieds. Several members made donations to me to keep my saw, and I will never forget it. I also will never part with that saw. Thanks again.

Robert,

A large thunderstorm moved it the the Twin City Metro about 2:30 am and woke me up. After the about the 50th  thunder clap in 5 minutes I decided to just get up.

I checked the site and read your post. Your post says so much about who is on this site and all the good things that people do for others.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It is really great to hear how people here will help out others.

I wish the media would carry one story like this a day as it might make for a more positive world.

Cheers,
Steve

That is what I call a really decent community spirit. I can't imagine that happening on many forums of any description. So many are just places for people with low self esteem and very little knowledge to pick on others from the safety of their PC.

hi all, i joined today and have 20 festools over 10 years so u r lucky i found this site and will tell u a wee story
from Scotland.
working in a big posh house in glasgow when the owner said how much will u take for cutting the bottom of
my 3 hardwood doors?
i said £10 a door
he said great then go a head and take 12mm off of them.
i opened the door and fixed the guide rail to it, then took the ts 55 which was conected to the midi hoover
and proceded to cut the door.
after 10 minutes the 3 doors were cut and swinging well.
the owner in amazement then said, im a brain surgeon and i dont earn anything near £180 a hour.
to which i replyed, thats why i left the brain surgery business.  [smile]

cheers mick

It is a great site and I have learned a lot. The site has also enticed me to buy a whole lot more Green tools.  [big grin]

[welcome] to the fog

did you take dwn the door or just clamp to it.
how did you clamp the jamb side, i would image that the architrave would be in the  way of the clamp or if it was open enough the saddle would be in the way.
