Can anyone enlighten me as to what exactly the differences are between the 120 and the 88 ?
The price difference in the UK is around £250, making one almost affordable and the other way out of reach.

To be honest I cannot afford either, but my old Elu has to be replaced at some stage, and a £300 makita would do the job, but then again, I could have bought me a cheap circular saw last week and not gone for a TS55.....

The main differences are the KS120 has a laser, fine adjuster for convenient angle adjustment, an angle finder, and a lock position allowing the ability to trim skirting and cornices etc. up to 120mm in height.

Cheers Garry - the laser is something I feel is important, but only if it is visible in decent levels of light - I was working with a guy who had a real cheapo mitre saw (Evolution ?) which had a laser that was visible but only if you shut the curtains and turned out the light. Now I don't want to judge anyone for their peculiarities , but I don't imagine many uses for me with a Kapex in a darkened room....!

I have daylight fluorescent bulbs in my garage workshop, and the Kapex laser is visible when they are on or when I am working with natural daylight with the door up. I've never used it outside so don't know what it is like in direct sunlight though. Perhaps someone else can comment?

I have not found the lasers to be visible in direct sunlight.  I normally use mine outside so when I get a chance to come inside and see them I feel like I have a new feature to play with.  [big grin]

Peter,

I'm sure you get much more sunlight than we do! [embarassed]

On a more serious note, I use the lasers all the time & they're visible in bright artificial light in my workshop. I've only ever used the Kapex outside once when it was really sunny, and it was not visible then (which isn't surprising). You can see then outside on an overcast day, particularly if you're under a gazebo or similar.
