What are the differences in the pads for the RS2E?

Ordered an RS2E and cannot wait to put it to use...my question is what are the differences between the available pads?  One is a replacement for the pad that comes standard, but it is not clear to me what the other pads are for and what the advantages of one over the other.  On Festool's site there is one stickfix with a non-marring edge and edge protection product no. 485648 and an MPE pad with edge protection product no. 485647.  Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scot:

485648 is a hook & loop pad with rubber that wraps up around the edges to protect the adjacent surfaces, thus the "non-marring". 485647 is also non-marring and used with clamped paper.

You'll love the RS2.  Just allow for a break-in period until the tool reaches peak performance. I used mine so rarely at first that it took me awhile to get there.  [smile]

I ordered one of the RS2 abrasive assortments from Tom and he did a great job with assembling them.
The assortment is nice to be able to try some of the finer abrasives to see how they work for your application without having to purchase 100 sheets of the grade.

Tom also has assortments for some of the other sanders.
